My Russian Boyfriend

I met my Russian neighbor in my laundry room while having a conversation with another neighbor. He participated in the conversation with us, and when the other neighbor left we continued talking about regular neighborhood happenings. Later when I went back to get my clothes out of the dryer, I ran into him again and he asked me if I was done. When I said yes, he asked when he would see me again. I said something like, "You'll see me again, we live in the same building!" He then asked me for my phone number and as I am not Russian, or even white for that matter, I hesitated and said I would take his. He asked if he could swing by my apartment to drop his number off and I agreed.

A few minutes later, he rang my door bell to give me his number. As I was on my way back out, I took the piece of paper on which he wrote his number and promised to call him later that week.

I was so impressed by his demeanor, the sincerity in his eyes and his respectful persistence that I called him the next day. We began dating and he has been the perfect gentlemen. I never feel as though I have to keep an eye on him and there have been no head games.

Most fascinating to me is how he calls me during the day just to see how my day is going, he shows concern for my family and there is never a dull moment with him. He makes me laugh, makes me feel safe, he's passionate and he takes really good care of me. For that reason, I have stopped dating other men and am seeing him exclusively. I also plan to learn Russian and I look forward to what the future holds.
